Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers Reviews :
Review 1 :
These speakers are a handy little pair -- they put out decent quality of sound for their size and price, and the volume capacity is excellent for a one bedroom apartment. (You probably couldn't DJ any sweet rave parties with them, but I've yet to need to crank them up all the way, even for a few of my weirdly quiet DVDs, so I'd say they're plenty loud. They definitely beat out my in-laptop speakers, several times over.)
The bass isn't the most clearly articulated sound in the world; I haven't had any problems with fuzziness or crackling, or really anything that would distract from tv/video/movie viewing, but there's definitely a certain level of crispness that they don't achieve. If you're a really picky audiophile, though, you're probably not going to be buying $15 speakers, and for your basic "I want to be able to listen to things with a decent sound quality at a reasonably high volume" needs, they're great.
Also: if you knock them off of a table two days after you get them and they hit a wood floor and the front metal grill pops off, you can just snap the grill back in place, and they still work perfectly well. At least, in my experience.

For the little $ paid, You can't beat these speakers. They have superior crisp sound quality, A good balance of Bass and Treble in a small package. They only stand around 6 and 1/2" high. I had a pair $20 of Radio Shack CyberAcoustics speakers that had a lot of treble but very little Bass. A common problem with speakers this size. These Logitechs were half the price and twice as good! I could tell the difference when playing music and video games. The Logitech performed very well.
The grill is metal so there is no cover fabric to stain or tear. The transformer is built into one speaker so only a standard 2 prong cord needs to be plugged into an outlet. There's no bulky transformer to hog your power-strip!
(After installing, If the volume is too low on the speakers, remember to go to the Sounds setting on your PC Control Panel and boost up the main Volume bar there)
I must add that I noticed the Left speaker (The heavier one without the volume knob) has less sound quality than the right. Try shifting the balance to each speaker to test yours. I exchanged mine for another pair and it had the same problem but to a lesser degree. I figured for $10 it wasn't a big deal. Maybe it's caused by the transformer built into the Left speaker? The two speakers still blend well and it's still a great deal.
Review 3 :
I wanted cheap speakers for my desk at work, I was never going to set the sound very high. For the money I paid, I expected some cheap plastic things that would fall over if I looked at them wrong and a volume knob that would fall off if it got the feeling I was thinking about turning it. Boy was I surprised when I opened these today.
Heavy enough to feel planted, solidly built, plenty of cord length (both power and pc connection), 3 rubber feet per speaker, and in my opinion, they look better than they do in photos. Sound quality is decent as well (it should be noted that, as I mentioned earlier, I'm at work and have not turned them up loud).
Review 4 :
My old computer speakers were so soft, it was like not having speakers at all. I decided it was time for new ones. I picked these Logitech speakers because they were a good price.
I'm very happy with what I received. The speakers are more attractive than they look online. Very sleek. And the sound is crisp and clear, no static, very full and bold. The volume can be loud, so much so I have to turn it down. There is a manual volume knob on one speaker and of course it can be controlled via the computer. These speakers have to be plugged into an outlet, unlike my old speakers, but that's probably why they work so much better.
The price can't be beat. I'm surprised I can get this quality for what I paid. I highly recommend these speakers for the average computer user.
Review 5 :
Living in a quiet college community I wanted to have access to music while not disturbing other residents. I wanted a nice quality sound for listening to music via the internet and I found it in my new Logtech Stereo Speakers. The sound quality is not unlike that from any good audio system. For such a compact size the sound is awesome. I would recommend these speakers for listeners who enjoy good music while working at their computer or just for listening to music on any computer. They feature adjustable volume, just so you know, and adjusts well to graphic equalizer preferences. It doesn't matter the type of music or sound. Logtech speakers adapt well to heavy bass, R and B, Jazz, classical music, video, and/or even techno! Whatever your listening preference Logtech multimedia speakers require little space and delivers quality sound.
Review 6 :
Once in a while a company will manufacture a truly excellent product, then sell it at a bargain basement price. That marketing strategy captures the favorable attention of the mass of consumers, and is thus profitable in the long run. Logitech displays that fine strategy with its S120 speakers, which are inexpensive but first-rate.
As a fan of classical music, which has the widest range of dynamics and frequency, I can recognize good speakers when I hear them; and the S120's are among the best. They catch every aspect of the music beautifully. Far from being "tinny," as a few tone-deaf reviewers have suggested, the S120's have a rather mellow tone, with just an underlying hint of crispness. They can do justice to any music that I'm familiar with, no matter what the instruments or combo.
Finally, these miniature speakers even look appealing: they've a nice, subtle line about them, which looks good beside a laptop. In brief, the S120's constitute a rarity among accessories: they're actually a wise purchase.
Review 7 :
I was looking around for a while for the least expensive and still good quality speakers on Amazon, and these seem to be them. These have great sound quality and get plenty loud. All you have to do is plug the power cord into the wall and the green audio cord into the computer and it works. And I have to say that i think they look better in real life than in the pictures. Good buy. I cant think of any bad things about them.
Review 8 :
ok so I normally use the $100+ speakers and these are not going to blow your mind or anything. For what its worth they are super practical and if you're using them with your desktop or laptop for basic voice chatting or minimal music listening then they are right up your alley. I tried them with skype (I have a usb mic which I think its absolutely required) so that the person on the other end can hear you with perfect clarity. I can hear the people I talk to as if they were sitting across the table. The features I really liked:
- Power Adaptor self contained within one of the speakers and the amp in the other speaker.
- Minimal and clean cord setup.
I put a small piece of electrical tape over the orange LED to minimize distraction and I'm set to go. I leave them on 24/7 and I don't hear any electrical noise when appliances are switched on or off in the vicinity.
Review 9 :
These little speakers are exactly what we needed for our tv to help boost the sound. There is a jack on the left speaker so you can put in headphones without having to move the speakers out of the way. This is great for those nights when one of us wants to sleep while the other wants to watch tv.
Review 10 :
These computer speakers both look and sound great! In addition, all cables are attached so there is no danger of - say - loosing the AC adapter cable. The cables are plenty long enough for me, and the lack of a bulky AC transformer at the plug in (it has a simple two prong AC power connector) makes it easy to plug into tight spaces. My only real quibble is that the red POWER ON L.E.D. is VERY bright, but a small piece of black electrical tape solves that problem <grin>. In some ways I'd have preferred a front mounted volume control and earphone jack, but it wasn't that big a deal. All in all, an excellent value!
